Homeade Dog Bones
2 1/2 cups flour (May use 1 cup whole wheat and 1 1/2 white flour) All rice flour is very good also, makes them harder.
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon parsley
6 tablespoons fat (bacon fat works good)
1 teaspoon brown sugar
1/2 cup powdered milk
1/2 cup water (more or less) depends what other ingredients you add, dough needs to be stff enough to handle. I do not add any until I see how much I need.
Mix and roll 1/2in. thick and cut with dog bone cookies cutter. Put on cookie sheet. I poke each bone with fork in the middle. Don't have to do this but makes them cook better.
Bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 min. If you want them harder just turn off oven and leave until.oven cools.
You may add canned vegetables, canned pumpkin, eggs, meat juice, peanut butter cheese and/or meat to main recipe.
You can do just about anyhting with this!
Your furry friends will thank you!!!!!!
